BOOKINGS AND CONFIRMATIONS
Guests can make reservations by phone, email, or via our website at www.hoteldjurhuus.fo.
To complete a booking, guests must provide personal details, including first name, last name, email address, phone number, and country of residence.
Agreed prices are binding for both parties. Prices are based on current tax regulations and may be adjusted due to increased costs, tax changes, or other circumstances beyond the hotel’s control.
A booking becomes binding once the guest receives a booking number or written confirmation.
Minimum age requirement
Guests must be 18 years or older to book a room. If the guest is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must also stay at the hotel. If a booking is made for a minor, the person making the reservation is responsible, whether the minor stays in the room or not.
GROUP BOOKINGS
For reservations of more than 6 rooms within the same time frame, please contact us directly at groups@hd.fo.
Special cancellation and payment policies apply to group bookings.
PAYMENT POLICY
The displayed currency is for guidance only. All transactions are processed in Danish Kroner DKK.
Cash payments in Danish Kroner are accepted at Hotel Djurhuus.
Accommodation and meeting room rental are exempt from VAT under Faroese regulations. VAT applies to food, beverages, and other applicable services.
The hotel accepts all major credit and debit cards.
NON-REFUNDABLE / PREPAYMENT
Full payment is required at the time of booking.
Special offers are non-changeable and non-refundable.
In case of cancellation, no refund will be provided.
Accommodation only non-refundable bookings may be rescheduled once within 12 months of the original booking date. This does not apply to prepaid packages, events, or concert tickets.
CANCELLATIONS AND NO-SHOWS
Cancellations must be sent by email to booking@hd.fo no later than 15:00 local time on the day before arrival.
If cancellation is received after 15:00 local time, the full stay will be charged, and the booking will be cancelled.
If a guest fails to arrive on the booked date without notifying the hotel in advance, Hotel Djurhuus reserves the right to cancel the reservation and charge the full amount for the stay.
CANCELLATIONS OF PREPAID PACKAGES OR EVENTS
Prepaid concert tickets, event bookings, and accommodation packages are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. A name change is permitted.
CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
Rooms are available from 15:00 on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 11:00 on the day of departure.
Late check-out is subject to an additional charge calculated at a fixed hourly rate.
GENERAL
Smoke alarms
Disconnecting or tampering with smoke alarms is strictly prohibited. Any violation will result in an additional charge of DKK 2.000.
Smoking policy
Smoking is not permitted inside Hotel Djurhuus. Smoking is only allowed in designated outdoor areas. Failure to comply will result in a DKK 2.500 charge.
Guest responsibility
Guests are responsible for any damage or loss caused to hotel property. The hotel reserves the right to charge for repair, cleaning, or replacement of damaged items.
Pets
Animals are not allowed at Hotel Djurhuus, except for certified service dogs.
FORCE MAJEURE & BAD WEATHER CANCELLATIONS
Unforeseen events beyond our control, such as strikes, lockouts, fires, or similar circumstances, which prevent us from fulfilling our obligations, entitle both parties to terminate the agreement without liability.
If a guest cancels a booking less than 24 hours before arrival due to severe weather, such as strong winds, fog, or snow, the full stay will be charged. Due to the nature of travel to the Faroe Islands, we strongly recommend that guests obtain appropriate travel insurance.
